Shihan Damian McCleod

Damian McCleod began his training in 1993 at When Worlds Collide dojo in Brooklyn. He is a senior student of Grandmaster Bill McCloud, one of Doctor Moses Powell’s first generation students and multiple Black Belt Hall of Fame member. His rank is Roku Dan (6th Degree Blackbelt) in Vee Jitsu Ryu/Vee Jitsu Te Jujitsu, Sanuces Ryu Jujitsu and Kumite Ryu Jujitsu.

Damian instructs under the direct guidance and supervision of Grandmaster Bill McCloud at the Martial Arts USA Dojo in Brooklyn, NY. In addition, he has studied Aikido, Boxing, Capoiera and is currently a purple belt in Brazilian Jujitsu under Professor Peter Lawson, a direct student of Renzo Gracie. He has trained with many notable Grandmasters, such as the late martial arts legend Doctor Moses Powell (Founder of Sanuces Ryu Jujitsu), living martial arts legend Soke Lil John Davis (Founder of Kumite Ryu Jujitsu), Sijo Abdul-Mutakkabir (Founder of SWAM), Professor Adam Battle (Sanuces), Sensei Frank Johnson DeJesus (Aikido), Professor Rolle “Lamumba” Hernandez (V.S.K. & Fu-Jow Pai), Soke Haisan Kaleak (Kuroshido), Kyoshi Malik Shabazz (Kumite Ryu Jujitsu), Kyoshi Anton S.A. Muhammad (V.A.S.K.), Sensei William Pearce, Professor Roger Braswell (Atemi Ryu Jujitsu), Professor Lioni Velasquez (Atemi Ryu Jujitsu), and Dr. Philip Chenique (Atemi Ryu Jujitsu).

Damian is currently pursuing his master’s degree in acupuncture at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in NY. He plans to apply his knowledge of Chinese medicine to integrate the healing arts and martial arts in order to promote a more holistic way of training that benefits his students and fellow practitioners.
