Irvin Faust, 6th Dan, has trained in martial arts for over 40 years. His instructor was Luqman Hakeem Shihan, who was a student of Yamada Shihan (New York Aikikai). He also holds rank in Tae Kwon Do, Karate, and Kung Fu; he has traveled to Japan to participate in training and demonstrations. He currently teaches at Albany Aikido and for clubs at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, local home-schoolers and local youth charities.
Ralph Wemberly, Shihan, started practicing aikido in 1975. After studying Tang Soo Do (Korean Karate) and Tai Chi, he decided to study aikido at the New York Aikikai under Yamada Shihan and at the Brooklyn Aikido Club under Luqman Hakeem Shihan. He moved to Staten Island in 1981, taught at several community centers and then founded Aikido of Staten Island in 1987.
Frank Johnson, 5th Dan, began training in the practice of aikido in 1973 under Yamada Shihan and subsequently also trained with Luqman Hakeem Shihan. He traveled to Japan and lived there for several months studying aikido. He also participated in demonstrations in Tokyo, Japan. He has been teaching at Aikido of Nassau County in Lynbrook, NY for the past 19 years.
